Oklahoma Agriculture in the Classroom

About Us

Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom is a program of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Oklahoma State Department of Education, and the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. The purpose of Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom is to help familiarize Oklahoma school children with Oklahoma's food and fiber industry by providing resources for Oklahoma teachers.

Funding for Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom has come from both private and public support. The Oklahoma Legislature has made funding available, and industry groups such as the Oklahoma Beef Council. Oklahoma Pork Council, Oklahoma Farm Bureau, Oklahoma Peanut Commission and Oklahoma Wheat Commission have provided support for the program.

An advisory committee provides oversight and support. If you are interested in helping support this important program by serving on the advisory committee, keeping your organization informed, providing financial support, or other means, contact Emily Ague.
