Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom (AITC) has many outstanding teachers using AITC lessons in their classrooms. We are pleased and proud to spotlight some of them monthly.

  • Winter wheat , spring oats, and alfalfa hay are harvested in July in Oklahoma
  • Sorghum, soybeans, and sunflowers are planted in July in Oklahoma

Time to plant sunflowers in Oklahoma. Oklahoma ranks ninth in the nation in the production of sunflowers. Sunflower seeds are harvested in the fall and used to produce oil for cooking and other purposes. They are also used as forage for cattle.
